Gastrointestinal Disease

Gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation: These conditions may be a fact of life if you suffer from gastrointestinal disorders. If you have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease (celiac sprue), gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, reflux (GERD) or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), you want to understand how nutrition will help you manage your symptoms. At Your Nutrition Design, your nutritionist will help you identify symptom triggers with careful and detailed attention to your food history. She will help you identify foods that can be making you sick.

Elimination Diets

For many people who suffer gastrointestinal diseases, modification or elimination of familiar foods may be the best way to heal from their disease. For people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, elimination of all gluten containing foods (wheat, rye, barley) is the only therapy for their disease. But food elimination therapy may feel like you will be facing an overwhelming question: So, what do I eat NOW?

Customized Food Plan

At Your Nutrition Design, you’ll take a virtual shopping tour, looking at food products that are tasty replacements for familiar foods. You’ll leave your appointments with a step-by-step plan featuring alternative foods and substitutes for familiar foods. Since restrictive diets may cause nutrition shortcomings in key nutrients like calcium, Kimberly Mathai, RD, RDN, CDE will develop a customized list of possible nutrient deficiencies and food sources for these nutrients that will give you a balanced, nutritionally-complete food plan.
